The Virginia Commonwealth University Police Department is here to serve and protect the VCU community. Whether teaching self-defense classes, patrolling campus grounds and neighboring districts or escorting students to their dorms after a late night of studying, our police officers want to create a safe and secure environment for our students, faculty, staff and visitors.
We pursue these goals with one of the largest university police departments in the country, featuring 90 sworn officers, more than 200 security personnel and an accredited training academy. The VCU Police Department is an accredited law enforcement agency, and VCU police officers have full law enforcement authority.
You will see VCU police officers throughout the Monroe Park Campus, MCV Campus and the VCU Medical Center. We are here for you.
