Mission Statement

Through an all-hazards approach, VCU Emergency Management strives to provide a safe, secure and resilient learning and working environment by mitigating against, preparing for, responding to and recovering from any type of emergency and/or disaster. In supporting the university’s mission, VCU Emergency Management is committed to building a culture of readiness and resilience by fostering seamless coordination with both the VCU community and partner agencies throughout Virginia.

About Us

VCU Emergency Management supports university personnel by providing ongoing training and exercise development, managing emergency preparedness outreach, coordinating with regional and state agencies and overseeing emergency, mitigation, recovery, and continuity planning. Additionally, VCU Emergency Management manages the university’s Emergency Operations Center (EOC), which serves as the central hub for emergency operations across VCU.
